Key cutting and coding at the annual meet

Thought I'd update this to say how pleased I am with the keys, and thanks again to Neil for arranging it


Now that I've had chance to use them more, I'd like to add that the keys are great and Craig did a perfect job of coding them, exactly how I asked.

For future reference, the maximum number of CL remotes/fobs that can be programmed is four, but the maximum number of immobilizer transponders is six.

So I asked Craig to program two of my existing key transponders (inc my original black plastic emergency key - pictured) and 4 new keys, one for each seat memory.

Ok, I know 4 keys might seem a bit excessive, but I liked the idea of having a key for each seat memory, plus it's reassuring to know that I own every key/transponder associated with the car. It was also a good opportunity to get them at a great price of course.

I've discreetly labelled them, 1 to 4 (see photos), so that I know which seat memory each one operates and I've programmed one of them as my 'crawling around in the foot-well' key as a convenient way of automatically moving the driver's seat right back when needed.

They really do look the part, don't they. I was off chatting to others whilst Craig was doing his work, and he coded all the keys (2 originals, 2 new and the black plastic one) for me. Excellent work and quality keys. I'm glad I bought them.

Same here. I just told him what I wanted and left him to it, then went off for a ride in the electric rocket ship. When I got back they were all done.

Glad he managed to sort most of you out ok - those with D3's that enquired I have given craig a list of your details so he can let you know when he's near to you. TinTin had some issues but needs to resolve his ECU blocked drain water issue first then Craig should sort his out

Yup - I did, and still need to sort this out: I'm hoping to get it fixed soon, so that I can get these done: my original remote is now looking rather tatty next to these...
