I never thought that I would get a bit OCD about this car..... but the button cluster was annoying me too. So I have just just done this mod and it is just so much better!

Unfortunately I still have the blank button...

Did you have to add additional wiring, David, or did you manage to just change the switches?

Current mods: solar sun roof, 20mm rear spacers, 15 mm on front, red brembo callipers, 6k headlights, rear view camera, engine remap, alloy dash dial rings, alloy navi rings, tt/phaeton pedal upgrade, (and custom matching foot rest) dension ipod interface & parrot hands free kit (both fully hidden), av input, tv in motion switched thro' PF switch in blanking plug right of steering column, Audi 'quattro' sill covers, repositioned centre console switches, radio clock, .
Planned mods: auto-dimming rear view mirror, dash cam (as steamship's), fit the ski hatch, refit philips drl's (or maybe not - nope, definitely not - horrible botch!).

You have to do the cut and splice for two switches as Sergei says. That requires soldering in 5 wires per switch. Its not a big deal and it took me an hour and a half including prepping the insert wires. The only outstanding issue is that I couldnt get the certoplast cloth tape yesterday so will do it later.

The biggest issue is making sure you dont get solder on the seats so I had a a fair amount of protection set up!
