Default Speed Sensor or not??

Firstly, hope you are all safe in the current environment.

I have just come back from a 3 week trip which took over 7 weeks as I ended up stranded with no flights! Anyway, that's another story, now to the car...

My car was standing and when I realised I was stuck abroad, I got a family member to charge it up (was flat) and put some fuel in/take it for a drive. Car was fine and behaved itself with no faults (surprisingly) although I know there would be some under-voltage faults stored.

FF to present day and I started the car and moved it onto the driveway ready to be washed, parking brake on. After about 20 mins I realised I had to go get some meds so jumped in the car, started it and BOOM the ABS/ESP/Handbrake fault lights lit up. I drove it around the block, no change. I then cleared all the codes but the ABS one won't go away. It shoes as N/S/R speed sensor intermittent signal but having read some threads I'm not sure if it actually is this or something else? Bit of a coincidence it's happened after standing for a while. I did do a scan but saved it after I cleared the codes (Doh!) and so will scan again tomorrow. Battery was charged again fully but fault persists. Fuses all checked on both sides of the dash, no problems. Any more pointers on what to check before I order a new sensor? Also, anyone know the OEM or should I just buy from TPS? My bonnet has also decided not to open but that will be tackled tomorrow fingers crossed....

Thanks

N/S is the left side, correct? If so, part number is 4E0927803D, superseded with F. O/S (right, in case I've got my sides wrong) is 4E0927804D, superseded with F.

What does the ABS fault say? Does the ABS work properly?

I'll rescan it today and post a log. Not sure how I can test the ABS

Without traffic around, brake hard and see/hear/feel if any wheel locks or not. If you are used to braking hard until the ABS gets activated, does it feel and behave the same way now? Be careful though.

OK it has now thrown a hissy fit! I went to read the codes and see what is showing.

Firstly, the car doesn't have a N/S/R speed sensor, from what I gathered it's front left and rear right. I checked the N/S/R wheel and can't see one either.

With VCDS I tried to see what the ABS module is showing and it can't communicate with it now...and this has thrown up lots of faults. Parking brake, ABS and ESP were already there but now also headlamp, jacking light is on, level sensor, etc etc. My guess is that the ABS module is faulty and the car cannot determine lots of other data because of this and so it is throwing faults. These modules just show as DTC not supported or cannot read (or something to that effect).

That's correct and yes the part numbers are the same as what I found on ETKA so thanks for the clarification. There is a new/old stock on ebay which I might purchase as it's cheap. Firstly though, I will get the old sensor off and give it a clean incase there is some dirt ingress due to it standing.
