Silly question but the location came up in an unrelated conversation this evening and the name was very familiar. But when I checked back, all I could find was a photo of a trawler!
(weirdly, this one, Fishing News boat of the week recently! https://fishingnews.co.uk/boat-of-th...gilant-so-109/ )

Mainly because it's on the WAW route from Donegal town and you need to drive through it to get to Slieve League. If we stuck to the N56, we would have missed Slieve League, Malin Beg, Glencolumncille and Glengesh.

Some would say it was so me and Neil could fill up on LPG, but that's just a coincidence...

So that's why I was killing time looking at trawlers...……

But they were good trawlers, as demonstrated by that article you found (good spot) And we enjoyed a break with drinks where you likely as not had (even more) cake

Notice how the two 3.7s netted a small school of S8s.

I feel that they are all a bit stunned at the size of those floating machines.
Apologies for my giant pictures BTW

I just click on the thumbnails to view them.
Interesting to see the different heights of the rear ends though. Neil's D3 looks very high and Mike's D2 very low - must be Angela's luggage. (Though didn't he have a possible broken spring?)

I think I'd started my 5:2 diet weight loss program earlier that year, but it was obviously in abeyance on the Emerald Isle.

The S8 sits a little lower as standard nevertheless Neil's looks to me like he has the suspension in 'raised' position.

5:2 could be accurately applied to our refuelling throughout the WAW. It's just a matter of how you define 5:2.
That aside, we enjoyed some excellent food there, especially fish chowder.
Regarding your photo of the wine list. I have a recollection that it being dark in there, you went with Ann's idea of photographing it so as to be able to read it.
This is a senior life fix that I now use to read frustratingly small or dingy print and much else.

Just prior to this nautical theme, I was shown a video on Facebook of a trawler coming into Killybegs, and finally managed to find the source today. I contacted the person who took the photos/video to see if it was okay to put a couple of the photos up here, so thanks go to John Cunningham who lives and works in Killybegs as a fisherman for permission. I think that is what is known as a good day's fishing!

That maybe a good days fishing Sean but its totally and illegally overloaded! You cant even SEE the load lines. I guess the fisherman was banking on the calm weather in order to make it back to harbour. And you wonder why the fishing industry is still top of the list for industry fatalities......
