Default The Librarians Woes continue!

So before the national dailys' pick it up. Yes, I have broken a rib or two! Having watched the diving at the Olympics I was so enthused that I immediately climbed a ladder up a tree in my garden. While cutting away a branch that impeded my forthcoming triple summersault with two half twist I commenced my dive earlier than planned. 😫
Note to self. Make sure there is more than 2 inches of water in the stream. Move the tree trunk at the side of the strean so one doesn't bounce off it.
Dear readers, you'll be pleased to hear my well trained family shouted casualty, casualty, casualty, call an ambulance and told me I was a t#@t and not expect any sympathy. This was reiterated by the air ambulance team to whom I am deeply greatfull for the morphine, the ambulance crew and the wonderful casualty staff at Derriford. Since being discharged last night the levels of sympathy have continued to drop in good naval fashion.
I have, regretfully withdrawn my bid for the 2020 Olympics and wont now be going to Germany at all!

Get well soon, Mike!

Reminds me of a similar incident with my Dad many years ago. He too was cutting a branch from a tree above a stream - with an electric chainsaw. Like you he fell, into the stream, still holding the electric chainsaw.

Fortunately, as the water was flowing quite briskly, he wasn't electrocuted, but the chainsaw did provide enough of a current to prevent him from moving. He was there about a half hour before my Mum found him and pulled the plug!

Good grief, hope you're recovering OK now Mike. get well soon as they say.

Talking of breakages, what was the final diagnosis and fix on your rear suspension after returning from Ireland?

Ouch, don't sneeze, cough or laugh. Around 6 weeks until they're back to pain free levels and another 6 weeks until no pain...
Good luck

Oh dear, I feel from you Mike, I mean literally. 2 weeks ago I took all contractors working for me flat out for next 6 weeks for a ultimate paintball experience. It was great until a Tank Mission where I was running towards the bridge to sneak on group of guys giving my boys a hard time who were stuck behind the tank. To my surprise they all saw me just before me opening fire so to not get shot I dived like a bloody dolphin sideways hitting the ground with my rib cage first.
You can figure out the rest.
I've got a great bunch of guys and banter never stops. Now I have to stay away from them because as 47p2 said, laughing coughing sneezing is your enemy, so I'm working on the car in silence for the past two weeks.

Ah, stay away from funny comedies, it was the biggest mistake - I laughed so much I started coughing and that was me finished and ended up crying in the agony.

Get well soon mate

Shame you missed out on the helicopter ride
