Certainly. If you're subscribed to a thread, you receive an email notification if someone has posted on that thread.
I'm also certain that you also use to get an email notification if someone sent you a PM.
It's very convenient as you know if a thread you're interested in is updated, as opposed to what I've been doing for months, which is going to the site and then clicking on 'New Posts'. I'll read all the posts, but some people might just be interested in seeing replies to specific threads.
They use to work until the forum kept crashing.
