Audi Q7 ABS Pump

My ABS pump has failed. Getting error 01276 for faulty ABS pump.

With thanks to Maria at Prestige I have the part number I need for a replacement pump but I see plenty with a different letter at the end. Would anyone know what that difference would signify?

4L0614517L is the correct one and hard to find
4L0614517D is a good price but not good if it won't work! Also seen ending in other letters e.g. 'A' or 'E'.

The A,D and E variants were all used in the '07 to '09 Q7s. The L variant was used in the '10 to '15 Q7s. There is no superseded version of the L variant.

Thank you. I take it that the variants aren't interchangeable?

I miss a proper forum like this. So many think that a Facebook group is a suitable way, all you end up with is something impossible to search!

I won't say never, because I don't know enough about these or other parts. I tend to go by what ETKA says, where a part has been superseded with a newer one, that can be used. Backwards compatibility tends to be a no-no.

e.g. these are the variant orders of the ones you mentioned:
L - your current one (no supersession)

The rest pertain to the '07 to '09 models
D - superseded by K
E - superseded by A
A - superseded by F
There is also this one
J - superseded by G

It doesn't necessarily mean one of these others won't work, but they would need coded to the vehicle for starters, and then you don't know what if any changes Audi made to the ABS unit or controller in 2010, which could make the replacement incompatible.

Very true. I don't mind trying to help out on those groups, but it's the lack of information they provide. This is one of the posts that really irritates me, a photo (see attached) with the words "What's wrong"! Crystal ball time.
