Had my car up for the MOT on Monday and it failed. Had a half inch wide bald strip on the inside edge AND the ABS and Traction Control lights came on just as I arrived.
I scanned the car and one of the error codes thrown up was: 01435 - Brake Pressure Sensor 1 (G201) 48-00 - Supply voltage I've also had this similar one previously: 01435 - Brake Pressure Sensor 1 (G201) 48-10 - Supply voltage - Intermittent Now, I've had these errors before and they have been intermittent. The last time it was there was almost two years ago. I've looked through my old posts referencing the G201 sensor and Ainars states that it is in the ABS pump. I decided to check all the fuses to see if something had blown after disconnecting the battery. All the ones to the right of the driver are fine, as were the ones in the boot. I then removed the carpet from the passenger side and discovered the underside was damp. Wasn't caused by the A/C drains this time as they're dry. Removed the piece of wood covering the electrics and literally went through ever fuse and relay. Pulled each one out and checked for damp and rust. The two big fuses at the very top showed some sign of corrosion so they were cleaned. There was also another few fuses and relays hidden up further behind the glovebox, which were all okay. I then moved onto the ECU box under the bonnet. When I removed the top, the underside of it was soaking, like condensation on the underside of a saucepan lid. I then did the same again, and removed all the fuses, relays and ECUs. The ECUs were dry, as was their connections, and only about two of the block connectors were damp. Every single one was dried with paper towels first, and I then took a hair dryer to them. I suspect that the water ingress into the ECU box and the passenger footwell was caused by over enthusiastic use of a power washer prior to the MOT. Despite this, the car is still throwing up the above error, with the ABS and Traction Control lights coming on after a couple of miles. Is there a liklihood that this could be caused by water ingress into the ABS units electrical connectors? I haven't had a chance to look today since mine has all the LPG gubbings sitting directly above it. Are there any other fuses/relays hidden anywhere else?
