Default Spec boot build sticker

Does anyone know the difference between these codes?

I found something online to check codes but I'm not sure it's right. My codes from my S8 on the left vs another one I looked at a while back. Something about glass I think

Current S8 first followed by previous S8:

3L4 vs 3PN
4KP vs 4KV
4GP vs 4GM

Also what is 1N3? something about variable speed??? Mine has this but I'm not aware of the function

Thanks
Rich

This is what the decoder on the PlanetVAG.com sites gives for those codes:

PRCode: 3L4 = Electric seat adjustment for both front seats driver's seat with memory system
PRCode: 3PN = Electric seat adjustment for both front seats with memory system

Assuming 3PN has passenger side memory as well

PRCode: 4KP = Side and rear windows acoustic glass
PRCode: 4KV = Side and rear windows in laminated glass

PRCode: 4GM = Laminated windshield with sunshield and viewing window for vehicle identification number heated
PRCode: 4GP = Windshield in heat-insulating glass with sunshield and viewing window for vehicle identification number

Different glass types for above four items

PRCode: 1N3 = Speed-related variable steering assist (Servotronic)

EDIT: Website is as follows: http://prsearch.planetvag.com/

Thank you Sean.

ok, so I definitely have servotronic!

Regarding the glass, does laminated mean no double glazing then? My current S8 has acoustic glass which I assume means double glazing?

I don't think so. I have the same code (4KV, laminated) on mine and they are double layer. Not sure what the difference is between acoustic and laminated though.

Ah ok, thanks Pete, and I think you're right.

http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/showthread.php?p=141697

Just looking back at this post from Dean above with the original brochure and it states that 'Twin pane heat insulating glass' is standard equipment.

And then I found 'Twin pane heat and UV light insulating glass with heated windscreen" under the options list.

So I wonder if it is this option. Does yours have a heated screen Pete?

Yes I have 4GM = Laminated windshield, with sunshield and viewing window for vehicle identification number, heated.

I've only noticed the heating work once, the windscreen demist button flashes when it's activated.

I wonder if the different codes also relate to facelift/pre-facelift.
