Alarm keeps going off regularly -quick fix to silence it needed
Just noticed this starting today, the alarm goes off for a short time, maybe 30 seconds then stops. A bit later it goes off again!
A VCDS scan doesn't show much exciting EXCEPT low internal voltage (dying battery inside as ever) and (probably more relevant) 49-10 No Communications - Intermittent Any thoughts on what might be causing it and is there a quick way of silencing it, short of dismantling the boot liner and pulling its connector off! It's a bit of a pig to get to so I'd rather avoid that for now if possible. It's not the original bulky square alarm module, it's the slightly later but compatible rectangular version that might even have been from another Audi model.

Finally: gone, but not forgotten..... 1998 D2 PF S8. Agate Grey/Platinum. Every option (I think) except electric rear seats, Tiptronic steering wheel, ski hatch, towbar & dimming door mirrors. e.g. Cruise control, NavPlus/TV, Bose, GSM, Xenons, Solar roof, Parking sensors, Alcantara/leather everywhere of course.  (internal dimming mirror added later)1998 (very early) Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec; ABS/TCS, Heated screen/mirrors, Aircon. Added Auto-dim mirror, Leather seats, Trip computer, Cruise control, OEM Ford SatNav with CD changer. And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850!
