It really is. It yields magical fuel consumption and power improvements by lining up all the fuel molecules as they go in to the engine

So what are the plans for your fleet of 9 cars? are most of them just parts cars to feed customer car re storations?
surely keeping 9 D2's going is impossible time wise and probably financially too ![]() |

Lots of rusty bits have gone off for powdercoating, including the springs which amazingly aren't broken! These have been blasted and will be recoated which will hopefully prevent cracks forming in the first place. They're then baked to make sure there is no moisture left in them before the zinc-rich powder primer is applied.
The powder oven is at 200C by the way - well below the annealing temperature of spring steel so it won't have any effect on the springiness of them ![]() |

The power steering leak has ruined the rear right subframe bushes. At £50 each, I'd rather not replace eight of them, so I cut up a bad subframe to rescue the bushes from that instead.
The donor subframe was toast anyway Rescued used bushes in nice condition This one has been dissolved by the power steering oil The dirty bits are where the rubber was split Someone has damaged the access holes for the rear arm mount Some heat from the mapp torch and a little percussive maintenance and they're back in shape This is one of the reasons for the catastrophic oil leaks - the last time the timing belt was done the special o-rings on all the cam end-caps weren't replaced but just smeared with silicone. There are two sizes of these, and alas this small one is NLA so I'll be experimenting with traditional round-section o-rings to seal these up again. Luckily the larger ones are still available from Tradition. Cam locking tools kindly on loan from Prestige ![]() The oil leaks have contributed to the oil cooler pipe being completely destroyed Its as bad down on the block as Big Red was Cleans up ok though. |
