Dear A8 forum,
I hope you are all well. Its been a long time, family stuff kept me busy for the past few years. My poor S8 sat undriven for almost 2 years. I am getting the crankshaft sensor error code and difficulty starting when hot. I looked through the pdfs in the tech dump for D2 but could not find the tightening torque for the crankshaft position sensor, does anyone know what the torque is please? I tried chatgpt but it seems like its guessing, first it said 14Nm but when I asked it to look in the Audi workshop manual it said 9Nm. So much for AI, pretty useless ![]() When I undid the old sensor bolt it was very easy to undo felt perhaps even less than 9Nm, maybe I’m overthinking this and should just tighten it by hand? Thanks and best regards! |

When no specs can be found for exact part, use the default values for screw size. Is it M6?, around 10Nm should be in ball park for regular M6, maybe a little dab of threadlock if you are worried about it coming loose.

Thanks guys!
I'll use 10Nm. Great idea about threadlock too, thanks! |
