It all works....
All wiring now complete, including hooking up the power feeds to the distribution board in the boot, and I finally remembered to hook up the red/white wire that is responsible for the headrest retract from the front.....
With all the wiring done, its time to rebuild, but no sense in doing that unless it works, so time to test..... I checked everything, and it all works exactly as expected: * Seat adjusts forwards backwards * Seat adjusts for height * Seat adjusts for lumbar * Seat adjusts headrests * Headrests retract using button in front * Seat retracts into parked position when rear door opened if button pressed * Seat heating works for upper and lower seats (Note I plugged a seatbelt into the buckle to test the seat heating ! - also, the coffee mug is from the relaxing cuppa i sat ane had whilst whizzing backwards and forwards, enjoying my hard work !!) Also, see this picture with the seat at its maximum reclined position - How comfy does that look... Now I need a chauffeur

.... the boomerang solution ....
I have another small problem which its time to tackle.
The center section of the individual seats where all the connectors sit is held in by 2 x 10mm bolts, and a hook that fits over the following alluminium plate: This is a bit of factory welding, and I'm not personally capable of either : a) unwelding this bit of plate from the original b) welding it onto my car So, heres a different solution: Running this thin ally plate across the back seat area gives me the same sort of plate to hang the plastic center box on, without any of the hassle of welding..... This is what it will look like once in place: This will have more than enough strength to hold the lightweight plastic box in place and being so thin, makes it bendable to the exact shape of the floor, so it shouldnt foul anything once fitted....

the rebuild starts...
After confirming all the wiring is good, its time to start refit, so in goes the carpet...
Quickly followed by the center console, new wood trims, rear vents and rear heated set switches, lower B pillar trims and audio / climate It feels so good to get some bits back in it !

I'm genuinely kind of lost for words, here's me trying to get my head round bypassing the TMC unit to get my RNS E to talk to the can and then you completely just did all; that and just WOW is all I can say and this is the reason they refer to you as the '8' God.. You deserve a medal for this, and when this car, if it ever does comes for sale
Only thing I can say is that I reckon it would look a lot nicer with the later style steering wheel.
