I'am 46, bought my first A8 approx 14 year ago after my mate bought a 2.8 D2, I drove it to Germany, got back home and had to have one, so bought a 2.8 D2 sport in silver on a T plate
In the last few years I have had a further three, 54 plate D3, 57 plate D3 sport and now just bought a 59 D3 sport again three weeks ago
For some reason, I fancy a change, sell the 8 after a few months realise nothing beats the 8's and end up going back
Cheers Andy

I've always liked larger, 'executive' cars. Had 8's for about 10 years now and had 2 Citroen XMs for about 10 years before that.

Bought my first A8 at the innocent age of 20 (couldn't get the thing going when I went to pick it up and there was no passenger seat!)

Interrupted by 20 days of driving a smoke-filled XJ6 I'm now into the 6th year of owning a PF S8 and the 29th year of my old age.

My first owned car was an Opel Kapitan in 1958 at the mature age of 18.
Then went through two more Opels, a Rekord and a Caravan(early Astras).
These were all in Germany and the last one I brought back to UK when demobbed.
In civvy street I went through a White Zephyr Six(thought I was a Z car) and a Vauxhaul PBD Cresta.
Then various company cars, Ford Anglia, Opels, Cortina Estate.
Back into ownership with an Astra Estate that I took all over Europe from Denmark down to Italy, in November 1989 I took it through East Germany to the Polish border and back to Potsdammer Platz in Berlin for the breaking open of the Wall. I was on a visit to Berlin when they closed the crossing and split Berlin prior to building the wall.
Then followed a Mitsubishi Gallant, a Ford Granada hatchback and two Nissan Maxima QXs.
Then at 74 SWMBO purchased my dream for me and I became the proud owner of my 2004 Audi A8 3.0TDI.
Yippee!! I have arrived. OK it has taken me 76 years to get there but very interesting years they have been.
The really big thing is that I have now met some like minded folk here in the forum and now consider myself double blessed, a beautiful car and some very good knowledgeable friends.

Was the hatchback Granada the original mk1 coupe Granada Ray? they are quite sought after now. I used to own a stretched Mk1 Granada that I bought off the MOD and loved it. Went to the classic car show in Birmingham a few years ago and there it was on the owners club stand, but white instead of black and fully restored, very strange seeing one of your former cars on display like that lol

No but I do have the spirit of Luton in my blood! Had a trusty Vauxhall Cavalier which to this day I resent ever letting go.
