For future reference I've found out they're called Voss fittings, and on the A8 they're 4mm

Also the writing on the Air Line is "Voss DIN 73378 4x1 PA12 PHL A1 A5381 EPM 559 R2"

So can assume then that when the connection is tightened in, that the "collet" does in fact open a valve allowing air to flow?

I don't think there is any valve in the strut, i believe if you cut or remove the tubing the strut will vent

I thought this too but when I removed the lines on mine it kept pressure. It only released the pressure between the strut and the valve manifold.
Remember seeing somewhere too that when you buy a new replacement strut that it needs to be charged with gas before its fitted. |
