I did mine a couple of years back. There is a guide on this on Audipages IIRC. Got the internal lens covers much less yellow. 
EDIT: Look in the stickies in D2 Lights - there are two, one for external lens polishing and then a thread from this forum which shows the internal lens cleaning procedure - http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/showthread.php?t=5817
