Some of you may remember this thread: http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/showthread.php?t=13497 Steve and I worked out a deal and I picked the car up last week. She drove home in limp mode (thats *not* fun with a 2.8!), and doesn't go backwards.
I got a chance to give her a clean today and have a good look around and she's actually in remarkably nice condition. Apart from a dent in the front driver's side wing where someone has tagged the bumper, she's very straight with no dings or obvious bad paint. Amazingly clean and tidy underneath too. She scrubs up nice ![]() ![]() The wheels are pretty manky, and obviously there's a trim missing on the driver's door which is easily solved. She's covered in some odd overspray, evenly distributed over the whole body. You can see the light coloured specks here: ![]() No idea how that happened, but it comes off with the clay bar ![]() I did a wing and some of the bonnet and I think she'll look superb after a damn good detail. So... what's happening with this one? If you read the other thread, you'll know the vultures were circling and I fully intended T42 to be a parts car just for the black interior, but I've had something of a change of heart having cleaned her up since I've always loved Ming Blue. The reasoning is thus: T42 is probably the lightest model of D2 available in the UK - front wheel drive, no double glazing, no sat nav, no xenons, no headlight washers, no parking sensors. In fact, the only two options she has are auto dimming mirrors (which are knackered anyway) and phone prep. Apart from FWD, which is easily sorted, that makes her the ideal recipient for... This! ![]() I was going to put this in my FE, but T42 has changed my mind, so the FE will be getting a rebuilt V8 and manual gearbox and then sold to buy go-fast turbo things ![]() |
