They are also used on the D3 so there is supply for probably another 3-4 years.

There is some chatter in the RS6 community that the Vaico units are in fact the genuine items without the Audi rings. These are £350 each, so half the price of the originals, but until I've laid eyes on one and someone has run them for a while its a bit of a gamble, and no one wants to be first!

Glad you replaced mine when it disintegrated in a, errr..., timely fashion at yours then

Bank 1 this evening

The gauze has split on this one and the middle has gone through the tensioner hence the startup rattle

Cam cover cleaned and new gasket installed

Sealant in the corners

Back on, two new tensioners installed

Thats all the internal work done on the engine

The replacement manifold is almost ready for paint. Serendipitously, this is from my grey S8's original engine so I know there's only 113K miles on it.

I know this one is from my engine because the previous owner had a can of orange paint, and for some reason painted random bits of hardware and engine parts with it This includes the crank pulley, fan pully, and inexplicably, these two nuts. I'll clean this off before it goes back together.

Since the injector rail is off for paint I will replace all the injector filters and seals

If that happens, it'll either be a very short or a very, very long thread...

You really don't want to be mixing PF and FL drivetrains - trust me on that one! I do have an FL 4.2 on the shelf though
