Well, finally started the process of servicing the car
Carried out the easy bits this afternoon - air filter and spark plugs.

Thanks to Amar managed to get a good deal on the parts so off we go

A few pictures as words are boring

A view of the engine with no plastic on and one of the plugs out:

Which ones the old one?:

Old air filter was very poor quality compared the new one (Bosch):

Where the filter came from (what is the item at the bottom?):

Lost a screw that holds the coil packs to the engine down the engine - will get it out tomorrow when I take the tray out to do the oil change.

Will continue tomorrow

Very satisfying doing your own work on the car, I serviced my wife's Mini today, took the best part of 40 minutes from start to finish.

That air filter looks like it's not been changed for a long time.

I personally would leave the oil filler cap on while your working on the top of the engine. If you had dropped you coil pack bolt in there it might have made the job very complicated

Yes please
Will be in all day as trying to do the final stages so PM me with your number if you can make today

I had to take the oil cap off as I didn't have an extension bar so it was stopping me from getting any leaverage on the coilpack nuts

Point taken though (it was put back on when I started to do the rest though)
