Never missed the sunroof in my PF D3 from the D2 tbh... Nice to have, but not the be-all and end-all.

I don't find the comfort seats a problem for grip, but that's maybe just the way I sit in them.

Any particular reason you hate sunroofs, Adrian? I love them in the right car. Much better on a hot day than the A/C! And I love having them open at night too!

I would also +1 half leather/alcantara seats. I thought I'd want rid of them from my A8 but they are superb at keeping you planted under heavy cornering load. With leather I'd be off out of the window!

I would agree with Adrian. I would never open a sunroof. I had one in an old car and to be honest, the only time it got opened was the sunny day that year and there was no aircon - waddya expect in an MG Metro 1.3? I think that aircon would have taken most of the BHP available.

Why would anyone want to cut a hole in the roof when climate control takes car of everything?

Just down to not seeing the point (and having had a couple of cars without climate and still not really using them, but having them leak on me)

If I want more noise I'll open the window - if I want 'wind in the hair' feeling I'd buy a soft top

Like Baryonyx I use mine at night. And in the winter with the seat heaters on, and spring and autumn. But funnily enough rarely in the summer.
Adrian, you say get a drop head, but I don't need to go that extreme when I can have an 8 with a sun roof.
If I had a rag top, I'd still also want an 8 as well, and I'd prefer it with a sun roof.
Aircon is great, so is pootling along with the fresh air and birdsong.
Finally. How can you really appreciate the sound of our cars in a tunnel. Windows generate a lot of noise and buffeting.. .... A sunroof however is perfect for it
