Hiya

I'm about to order a new Hormann garage door and was considering automation, even though my garage is in a block so would have to be one of the ridiculous price systems that run off a 12V supply as there's no mains power in the garage. What's finally put me off is that by going to a retractor mechanism suitable for automation, rather than the existing canopy setup I would lose some width on garage access, which I can't afford to do.

So I don't have one of the Hormann remotes, but they don't look any higher than the fag lighter it would replace? Am sure an installer could show you one or find a measurement to check

You can order "retractable plus" gear from Hormann, which is £48 extra. That gear was designed to never eat into clear space of 7 foot doors.

Will install myself
