is there an issue with the https cert? I'm getting the error
Your connection isn't private Attackers might be trying to steal your information from 62.255.96.108 (for example, passwords, messages or credit cards). NET::ERR_CERT_COMMON_NAME_INVALID This server couldn't prove that it's 62.255.96.108; its security certificate is from forum.a8parts.co.uk. This may be caused by a misconfiguration or an attacker intercepting your connection.

The cert is specifically for forum.a8parts.co.uk
At a guess, I'd ask if you are trying to access it using https://62.255.96.108 If you are, that would explain it, as the cert is only good for the main URL of https://forum.a8parts.co.uk Maybe post a screenshot of the URL/error ?

An update to my last message. Tried uploading a screenshot to explain, in both JPG and PNG formats, and they both fail.
Anyway, In you go into the 'User CP' section > 'Edit Options' (under 'Settings & Options'), on the main page there is a section called 'Messaging & Notification'. Within that, there are two sub-sections called 'Default Thread Subscription Mode' and 'Private Messaging'. Within 'Default Thread Subscription Mode', I have the dropdown set to 'Instant email notification', and within 'Private Messaging', I have check boxes 1,3 and 5 ticked.
