Mine is! - and getting better all the time: Happy 100k anniversary to Amy 🎂🎉
Four and a half years on, and only just run in 🤗. Objectively a much better car than when it was new - faster, safer, goes further and better to be in: and still on the original set of brake pads
Lots of memories and adventures to date, with many more to come. A definite keeper - just like Herman and my 20vt Coupé👌.

In answer to the original question ...
Quote:
I still have the D2 S8 but it's now resting inside my business unit. At 18 years old and 10 years of ownership, it was getting too old to run as my daily company vehicle (or rather, parts were becoming too difficult to source quickly). Plus I'm 50 this year, so I figured it was time to treat myself to a new toy! So last year I started thinking about what to replace the D2 with. I came very close to buying a D4 S8 Plus a few times, but as a company vehicle it made no sense from a tax perspective. Also, the Model S is waaaaaay quicker! Then about 6 months ago I started considering a Model S, partly due to the tax incentives (not to mention the free unlimited super-charging). The Model S is a bit long in the tooth now, and probably due to be superseded in the near future, but the Model 3 and X just didn't appeal to me. Also the Model S is still the quickest Tesla currently available (2.3sec 0-60mph)! So I started the order process ... then COVID happened! I kept postponing the order until a couple of weeks ago and eventually took delivery (of my first ever brand new car) on Monday Haven't had chance to drive it much yet (only about 40 miles so far) but hell it's quick!!! And I mean neck-spappingly quick! In fact (and I never thought I'd say this) but it might actually be too quick! And, despite the rather spartan interior (compared with similarly priced vehicles) it's a very nice place to be. Comfortable, quiet and a smooth ride.

Nice..... Another Model S joins the A8 fold....
Another Tesla has joined the forum recently too - but its not my news to share ;-) I'm still actively looking to sell on my Q7 and pick up either another model 3 or a model S. The company car incentives are so far off the scale, its verging on insanity not to...... No tax disc now - they are exempt from luxury road tax and I now have my smart charger set to only charge it when my octopus agile tariff is less than 4p / kwh. For some basic maths, that makes the Tesla cost about 1.5p per mile to run.... and that's enthusiastic B road driving.... :-)

I had a test drive in a Model 3 performance yesterday (new contract incoming, outside IR 35 ), here's my summary:
Performance is incredible - it's not news that these are quick, but they are, very quick Was very impressed with handling and grip too - it was raining quite heavily, and a heavy right foot, that would have had my M4 pointing in the oposite direction, did not trouble it at all. Steering seemed very direct and very quick. Ride a touch hard, but forgiveable. However, I won't be buying a Model 3 because: 1. Still not convinced of the charging network - we drive across to Estonia every 2-3 years to visit the outlaws, neither the car nor the Tesla website could find us a route, with charging, other than via the 16 hour ferry from Stockholm. No route presented via land, only seemed to get as far as Warsaw, then nothing 2. The horrible plastic steering wheel - possibility to get this retrimmed, but would be nervous of disrupting the electronics/controls/warranty by removing the wheel 3. The seats! Quite soft and comfortable, but the length of the seat squab is just far too short for my long legs, a deal breaker A Model S or X might address points 2 and/or 3, but the issue of charging east of Warsaw needs to be resolved before I make the plunge to an electric powerplant. You might have guessed I am getting ready to replace the M4. Also tried a LR Discovery yesterday, quite liked that and some good deals on them atm. Going to try a few other alternatives first, including a D5 |

Try PlugShare: https://www.plugshare.com/ The model 3's interior was a bit too 'cheap' for my liking too, plus I'm not really a fan of smaller cars. The model S/X are much better IMO. They're still not what you could call plush, nor do they match the refinement and quality of an 8, but they're put together well and they have a pleasant minimalistic quality about them that you quickly get used to.
