Very nice to hear that your Audi dealer solved the issues as well, in a good manner

A win for you! Glad to hear they saw sense, accepted responsibility and looked after you with replacing the part.
If it's pretty conclusive that they have caused the fault, then a main dealer will usually rectify the problem. This is a premium brand after all and we are fairly loyal customers and enthusiasts but certainly don't appreciate being ripped off and treated like fools. My local dealer (Chelmsford Audi) completely messed up my S8 doing some recall work a couple of years ago but refused to accept responsibility for any of the problems and were really digging their heals in. I got nowhere when I raised a complaint with Audi UK as well. The only option was going to be taking them to court but as a desperate last resort I found the director of Audi UK's email address and fired off a long email to him explaining the situation. He called me personally within an hour of me pressing send and my case was then handled by his team, they authorised just over £2,700 of repair work and everything was excellent from that point on but I have vowed to never have anything to do with Chelmsford Audi again, I am instead happy to drive the extra 20 miles to Southend Audi for anything now. Unfortunately they are still part of the Essex Audi group but knowledge, competence and customer service are everything. Chelmsford Audi have none of these attributes, but I digress. It's a flagship car and you are taking it to a main dealer for repair/service work. If you can't expect perfect service there, then there is no hope for the brand.

I'm waiting to see what the outcome is on my son's S4 Avant.
He paid Chingford Audi a great deal of money just a few weeks ago to fix his power steering and it just failed again totally. It was on a weekend and his wife was driving it, with 2yo grandson on board, a fair few miles from home out near Rickmansworth/M25. The car was trailered back to their house and they came home by train. Not sure if that was due to limitations/safety in the recovery truck or just personal preference, our grandson is very happy on trains and tubes.

Audi West London made a cacophony of errors when my car went there. It lead to a lot of stress for me and LONG periods without my car.
In the end, they stepped up and fixed/refunded all of it, so I now look back at their efforts and I can't say they weren't fair. |

My sons S4 is allegedly coming back to him tomorrow morning (Good Friday) at 10am. Not sure if has to collect or it gets delivered.
Seeing him later in the day so I'll hopefully get the full story!

Glad to hear that the dealer did right by you and sorted the problem out at their expense.
Not talking a flagship car here, but my first new Audi was '95 A4 1.9TDi (90bhp). Spent 10 months arguing with the dealer, who used every excuse in the book, so I went to Audi UK. Thankfully, they dealt with it and I got a brand new '96 A4 1.9TDi. A few years later, that same garage lost its franchise, and with service like that, I don't blame Audi.

Apparently it says on the invoice that the car should be brought back after about 3 weeks to bleed any air from the system. On the invoice! I was with him when he collected it after the initial repair and no-one said anything about this or pointed to the comment. And anyway, why is this necessary and why would it fail totally? Surely, like brake bleeding, there's a procedure to follow that should ensure the hydraulic fluid is bubble-free?
