Egt faults 4.2 tdi
Egt bank 2 sensor 1 short to ground fault,new sensor not resolved,bypassed loom from new sensor to ecu,now egt sensor 3 also shows a fault,do they share a common earth?

Check out the wiring diagram PDF in the D4 Technical Info & Upgrades Sticky thread, because although the title suggests it's only the 4.2 petrol engine, it also covers the 4.2tdi. I did a search on 'exhaust gas' and the first result was for 'Exhaust gas temperature sender 4'. Here's a link to the PDF:

Cheers yes have the wiring diagram,egt 1 bank g236,i have traced wiring from sensor to the ecu,also bypassed original wiring although when i do this egt 3 also flags faults...

2 new sensors and section of loom still not resolved,looks like il have to delete egt 1 from ecu..

Open up ECU, check for dry solder joints??? Or check for shorted MOSFETs or other drivers inside ECU.
