Which given 1st June is a Sunday would likely be 7th/8th I guess?

Unfortunately, like Donp38 "We have some family health issues" so are limited in availability/commitment at present.

It seems like a lot of us are in the same predicament, myself included.

So, my original question remains. Is there anyone that’s going to step up to organise a ‘traditional’ meet in 2025 as Nick and I have an alternative if not.

I suppose there would need to be consensus on where a traditional meet would be? I have never been on one so it would be a first for me. I fancy the lakes and the honister path through to buttermere as a drive but is not very 'central'.

Maybe gauge who would be able to go? Or maybe people are awaiting the 'alternate venue'

The location of the annual meet is usually close to the organisers! We’ve held meets from the Highlands in Scotland to Devon & Cornwall, including Wales, The Lakes and The Midlands. We don’t usually canvas forum members as to where they’d like it to be as, as this thread has mentioned, finding an organiser is now difficult.

So, I’m meeting Nick and Anne on 17th of this month and, should we not have a volunteer to run a ‘traditional’ meet by then, we’ll post the idea for an ‘alternative’ meet shortly after that.

Usually - but doesn't have to be . Several of us have done this for locations which are as much as 200 miles from their home location - in some cases several times.

But there's only so many times that this can be done by same old suspects , so it would be really nice if some other forum members who've benefited from this in the past could offer to do something similar - if that's of interest and possible? - maybe in one of the (few) areas that haven't been visited before

I'd be up for organising something in and around the lakes if people are keen on that idea?

I've got a good idea for a hotel and some activites for the day time.

looking at the prices of the hotel the 15/16th looks like a good deal..

let me know what you think?
