Socket location
just thought I'd post this up,
according to Ross Tech site teh socket on mine should be under dash on drivers side.... yet mines underneath the ashtray??????????????????? Is this normal place or do I have a weirdo car

Nope. All PF were under the ashtray. It moved under the drivers dash at FL.

Sold on. 1998 1.8T A4 Avant FWD. Ming Blue (there's a theme here), PEX for the 97 S8. And a list of non VAG going back 40 years before I saw the light.

My 2000 4.2 FL has it under the ashtray. My 2000 3.7 FL had it under the steering wheel...
...i think it may be from a certain production point rather than when they switched to the FL... -Oli
