Not wishing to be biased, but as my brother in law is the branch manager of the Bristol branch of GSF,I know through chatting to him, they do sell varying degrees of quality of parts, but that is relayed in the price, obviously. If you have a problem,ie squeeling pads etc,I have found them most obliging.I generally go for the Zimmerman discs and the pads are TRW ones.So far no squeeling,I did them last October. The 2 bolts were very tight, I recall that hold the caliper in place.Think they fitted them with some form of Loctite thread lock, previously at some point, as the threads were green in colour.Atb

Ska/Oli

Did the discs this weekend.. and bloody hell did I ache the next day after tugging at those Caliper Carrier bolts. Superman doing them up is an understatement. Amusing day of struggling with bolts actually:
First off the wheels were put on when I had them balanced last with some over zealous monkey with an airgun - and I only had the Audi wheel wrench - MUST get a longer breaker bar. So after countless swear words and bouncing on the bar, got the wheels off.
Then had to work out that to get the caliper off, they split, one half and the front pads comes off easily when you undo the bolts, but took me some head scratches before I realilsed the rest of the caliper slides off the back!!
Then the carrier frame bolts. B L O O D Y hell they are tight. used the documented long socket on an extra 1/2 extension and eventually got them undone.
Not as easy a job as I first thought when thinking aahh.. I'll bang some discs on there in a couple of hours!
Pads are ferrodo personally.. 65 ish plus the VAT from Burnley Brakes (Local factor to me who seem to do better quality than Euro CP's)
Took the liberty of bleeding a fair amount of fluid out, repairing one of the bleed nipples that was blocked and all seems well.. other than I STILL have a vibration from somewhere (least it doesn't shake when putting the brakes on from 80 now!)
Going to post another thread about the vibes.. incase someone can shed light.

Oh - and no matter what the parts person tells you when buying new Pads, the springs on the top are part of the pad, and can't be changed over!
(I got told they could so merrily went home with the wrong pads - identical other than the springs on them)
APEC part number PAD940 were the ones for my setup (same as SKA - floating calipre with 4 pads per side)

Just wanted to add this here as this post is stickied.
I have juddering brakes at the moment mainly noticable at 50mph and above.
I am about to buy a new set of Brembo discs and pads to cure this.
I know its not the wheels because they are off my old S8 and that never juddered.

I was looking on the web how to identify if its due to warped discs, and came accross this. Interesting read.

what feels like juddering brakes is often, in fact, worn suspension arms

Interesting article on the stoptech site. My juddering was combination of worn/cracked pads and control arms. However, the discs were replaced by the garage as it was surmised that there may have been "warping".

I have an update on my brake judder problem.
I took the car to MRC this morning, they checked it very thoroughly and found a few issues.
I dont know where the German guy I bought it from went to get his suspension arms changed, they used bolts that are too short, and as a result the nut on the left side came off. This is what was causing the suspension noise when going over bumps. The bolt was almost about to drop out. I dont know how it made it across Europe in this state. Also, the left front spring was broken. The brake discs are also causing the judder. And on a unrelated matter the rear self-levelling shocks are leaking.
So much for German servicing eh?
I guess I didnt do a very good pre-purchase inspection.
Hope this helps someone. I'm just glad it is all going to be fixed.

Goran, they've posted a photo of it on their Facebook page and asked everyone to spot what's wrong
