And the bad news is, they arrived today and don't fit.

Well, not without a bit of "bodging", though at £3 each I'm happy to do that.

For reference the part number is 4BO 601 165 A and the problem is the outer locating ring on the back, with the semicircular indents at various places around its perimeter.
You can't tell from the pictures online but it's actually a bit larger and differently shaped than the correct Avus centre, so needs a bit of sanding down to fit - I haven't done that yet.

What's more the genuine one has a ring with 12 bevelled ridges on its outside that actually make the contact with the alloy (plus the central spring connector which really holds it in place). The alternative one has a slightly larger ring with no external ridges and straight sides, so the whole perimeter needs sanding down to make it bevelled to fit the alloy.

You can see what I mean if you look very carefully at these 2 pictures, the 895... has small slopy "buttresses" outside the large ring, the 4DO has them on the inside:
(Either that or I'll just cut segments out of the ring, it doesn't do much really, just stabilise the edge. )

Actually, not with any amount of bodging.
The central clip doesn't quite protrude enough to EVER fit my wheels, by only a few mm.

So, does anyone need 3 of these (non-OEM chinese copies presumably) for the price of P&P and a beer token? I'll throw in the fourth which is now missing the outer ring on the rear so will presumably rotate somewhat.

Did anybody find any at a reasonable price ?

These are the cheapest i can find for a set of 4 : http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Audi-Wheel...item2a1bdc3d37
I bought these - the Alu isn't treated FYI so I would recommend lacquering them.

My wheels are replica's and the caps are genuine, i had to cut the little buttresses on the cap down so they would fit flush to the wheel.
