After 168k the Air Suspension Compressor Needs an Overhaul!
Well a few of you might know I have my original sky blue A8 4.2 back on LPG.
I owned her from 2 years old and 30k, and had it converted to LPG. Sold to Mark who kept it 3 years and I got her back again for a very fair price! She is being slowly brought back to her original glory, wheels done, paintwork made right and going through the car replacing little bits here and there. Replaced the other rear caliper with a spare from A8Parts but still got that b*stard warning message on dash. Wiring or handbrake ECU next! But today after 168k on the clock on it's original compressor, she decided to keep her ar$e end on the ground and turn into a BMW M Sport model. Orange light on, lift mode is greyed out so it's time for an overhaul! I've ordered BagPipingAndy's new piston ring kit for £25 notes delivered, it's a steal at that price and if it fixes the compressor I will be a happy bunny! I won't document the compressor removal as Glyn has done a perfect job on that already, however I will do the compressor strip down and rebuild. Very simple job from the looks of it.  I'm also getting an occasional epb warning but it dissapears straight away after I turn off the engine. If u get to the bottom of your issue, feel free to share it  Oli
