Default VCDS scan of my D3 before and after fault code clear

Some fault codes have remained.

The attached files below are:

Before.txt , contains the full scan before clearing any codes.
After.txt, with the exception of the first bit contains the fault codes which remained.

The before has lots of faults because the battery was not well and replaced yesterday.

Do any of these look critical? There are only two that remain. One to do with the parking brake, and another to do with the alarm.

Alarm horn warning may well be the battery expired in the alarm horn or dribbled its contents inside - A8 parts should be able to sort out a replacement alarm horn for you.

The EPB may well need resetting. Try following post 5 in THIS THREAD and if that doesn't resolve it then perhaps the pads need changing or the EPB is sticking

the first fault log is as you say populated with false alarms due to battery problems, the second log i'm guessing is a cut and paste from the original?

as the headers show faults but the later only shows two faults, which should be easily fixed.

my car was the same when i first got it as the battery was low.

you would be better driving it for a few days then re scan it

Well its been a few weeks since I got the D3, and I had to disconnect the battery again today to get underneath it to retrieve the missing captive nut.

I reconnected the battery, cleared all the codes and then did another auto scan.

The HVAC fault and the two door switch faults clear, but then come back again on another scan almost straight away.

The alarm fault, I am aware is most likely caused by siren failure.

So, looking for advice going forward on how to deal with these.

Well I'm not one to believe in coincidence but it's the same fault with my drivers door handle, needs to be replaced as far as I know not fixable, the rear footwell heater on mines also playing up but it's a short to ground.

In your case I would check wiring is not been disturbed as there is no comms

I suspect your right with the footwell heater, perhaps something was disturbed with the wiring when the car was cleaned (badly I might add) by the dealer. I have no idea where the heater wiring is though, I guess its under the passenger seat somewhere or hidden under carpet?.

Both door handles appear to work fine, and I can unlock and lock the car using either side. What concerns me, is that perhaps these two faults are keeping the kessy module alive so that the car does not go to sleep and thus could lead to a flat battery eventually. Most of the time I only use the car for short trips, my old D2 only did 4500 miles in 12 months on UK roads.

Not sure about the kessy module being kept alive but in regards to the door handle mine manifests itself by not unlocking the car when i place my fingers under the handle (proximity) and will only unlock by pulling up on the handle, then a second pull opens the car.

I have attached some files for your reading pleasure.

My driver's door is the same although it does work properly about 20% of the time.

Given the amount of driver door handles sensors that seem to be going faulty i wonder what the cause is...must be something consistently faulty that causes the same issue

I think the seals go on the button and water gets in.. My current one has a 'squishy' rear handle and the previous owner replaced the front for the same issue.

With regards to the footwell heater, That's the first D3 scan I think I've seen without them both being a fail
