Here you go Jim, I didn't take it out the car because i didn't want to get caught. Mat has been cut at the fwd end anyway. The eyelet thingies are 270mm apart transversely measured from their centres.

I'll take a photo this weekend of the mats from my car and the ones we're discussing here. They're definitely not the same colour, the eyelet thingies are different and they don't fit right.

So maybe the FL and PF mats are not interchangable after all?

Default The continuing carpet mat saga

Here are the photos of the mats from my car (build sticker says WJ twist beige) and the ones that I just bought (on right). On the driver's side mat in particular, you can see that the eyelet fittings are different and not in quite the same place. And the colour is definitely different.

Where did you find the colour code for the mats? Yours look just like my new ones in colour and fittings (and quality), but that leaves me wondering what colour my carpets are.

upper mats and lower mats....

The D2 carpets stop short of covering the floor where the drivers feet go.

There is then one mat which sits flush on the floor with, then a second mat goes on top of that, hence why one set of mats has a 'holey' eyelet and one has a cap. The cap goes on top.

What happens a lot is the top mats get dirty, and get removed at sale time to reveal beautifully clean mats underneath, where the mats underneath are really an extension of the carpet...

Not sure that made any sense...

Carpet materials changed (cheapened) when facelift came out, so they're thinner nylony type affair, where pre face was a much deeper quality rug.

You'll never get pre and post face mats to interchange and look right...

Hope that helps ?

There is no part number or color code on mats, they were on packaging when I bought them. To find color you need to look at code on build sticker and then look- up in ETKA

I've still got my upper and lower mats ... think they are quite rare to find together nowadays.

I would be quite interested in the OEM rubber ones....anyone any idea on part numbers for that by any chance?
