ABS - "Buzz" when abouut to stop
Another one for the KB.
After having new pads fitted the brakes started to 'buzz' the ABS just as I was stopping. I could 'feel' it was coming from the nearside so lats night I took the wheel off, pulled the ABS sensor and found some 'crud' like swarf stuck to the front of the sensor, a good clean with brake cleaner of the sensor and a squirt and clean out of the loacting socket sorted it, total time about 20 mins most of which is finding the locking nut to take the wheel off  For info it just pulls out although a twist and wriggle was needed due to the crude . No piccys as I was in a rush and it was going dark but seriously its dead simple...

Nice one entwisi! It has been documented a few times but good you found it yourself.
Make sure you don't push it back in too far as it can ruin the tip and you'll be needing a new sensor  Oli

Note also from about 2000 onwards the ABS sensors are held in by a screw, no idea why, its not like they're ever loose... Quite the opposite !!

Hi There,
I have this happening on mine....Does it at slow speeds and usualy only at the begining of a journey, Kind of like a boinging sound and a bit of brake judder. Like the ABS is kicking in to early. Its on Audi pages : http://www.audipages.com/Tech_Articl...eshooting.html Although not highlighted in the breaks sticky. Will have a shufty tomorrow. cya, Lee
