No reprogramming of anything was done. Just plugged and played
Good luck with your installation
Thanks! I think I'll do the install friday afternoon or saturday morning, depends if SWMBO hasn't taken the car.

Decided to do the MMI update this evening. All went well and pretty quick, about an hour for 0350 to 1110, and half an hour for 1110 to 5150. Everything works fine. Usual thing of loosing the battery meter but that is easily fixed. I think I'll keep at 5150, unless anyone can tell me the advantages of 5570 because everything does work and I have 3D map function now.

Fitted the AMI interface this afternoon and can happily report all works well and no coding was needed. Bit fiddly at times while feeding the power and optical bridge connector. Overall I'm please that I now have endless music.

Cheers Del. Credit goes to this forum with its wealth of information in the threads. I didn't think I would do any upgrades to this car, but the more I read on here the more I think about... Now, time to read up on replacing my analogue TV for the hybrid DVB

Nice job - it's definitely worth having the AMI fitted if you like your MP3s

Just an update to my install. As I previously posted that everything does work as it should and VCDS shows no errors. But with further inspection into 0E-Media Player 1 I notice that it cycles between the AMI unit and CD Changer, as the video below shows. Is this normal? As I said, no errors and all works perfect.

Was doing some googling at lunch and read that when keeping the CD changer with AMI, pin 5 (green) must be connected to Pin 4 (ground). This will select it as Media Player 2 and, hopefully, stop them fighting for Media Player 1 position. Also the CD changer must be first in the MOST ring.

My MMI just shows CD and Media device and I select as desired.

You could try putting your changer in the ring first
