V Power

I must admit I run almost exlusively Shell, and Vpower at that. There *is* a difference, there is more power and in my case that makes more range which is my most common bug bear in the big Audis..... Bp is a last resort and after that, its fuel light bingo till Shell turns up....

mine always gets v-power - I notice better mid range pick up even around town compared to regular unleaded.

I'm assuming this is replacing v-power over time and there'll be no price increase anyway? Not like v-power is cheap!

I used V Power in my petrol V8 D2 and found a difference in fuel consumption and possibly smoother with better pickup.

With my soot chucker there is no difference in performance and fuel consumption is possibly worse! Not a very scientific test but it was over the usual commuter route and a whole tankful.

I don't rate it for diesels

I usually use BP Ultimate (is BP not good?) as that's what I pass on my commute (or Esso on the way home). Why is Shell regarded as better? I'll look for a Shell station if I'm convinced!

And I have loads of data (for the newbies, I log every single tankful on a spreadsheet - sad, I know!) to show that I do definitely get better fuel consumption, but that doesn't make up for the sdditional cost.

I do the same

My nearest petrol station is Shell so that's the main reason.

I did fill up with BP Ultimate once and it didn't feel as responsive - I'd played 0 miles roulette for long enough and in Devon there's virtually no Shell stations!

Price is no different so I just try and stick the same in every time

Any chance you could share the spreadsheet template with us minions Laird?

Was about to attempt something like this for the new wheels, a template would be very very helpful

I have always used Shell V Power with my 8, with very few exceptions when I can't find a near Shell garage, and I agree about BP not feeling quite as perky, but I do think that the few times I have put tesco momentum in, the car has felt even perkier
