Is it just the spare wheel well? i.e. are the two spaces where the battery and amplifier go on either side dry? Is it possible that there is a crack/hole in the spare wheel housing? Also, considering it just seems to be glued in place, maybe some of that has deteriorated. Is it time to put your son in the boot again, and then turn the hose straight up at the bottom of the car?

I know on mine that the tube on the drivers side is very difficult to see. I'd be tempted to remove the knee panel under the steering wheel, the fuse cover and also unscrew the fuse box assembly, so you can see as much as possible. Then, when it's dark, park the car nose down and to the right, open the sunroof and then put in a small quantity of water with a UV dye in it. After that, it's a case of using a UV torch to check the inside footwell and sides. Either the drain coming down from the sunroof has got damaged, or worse, become detached at the bottom.
