Hi guys,

Just a quick update in that I have decided to write off my 3.7QS.

There are 2 good things though....

1. my 3.7 QS is staying in 'the family' and going to A8 parts - may you (and others) enjoy all the parts from it for a long time to come

2. I'm still in the A8 family and will soon collect a 4.2Q FL that has belonged to A8 parts for a while.

I won't have it for another 2 weeks but rest assured it will have some interesting goodies on it which i'll share with you when I get it.

Thanks again for all the messages and for keeping a lookout for solutions/other 8s for sale. In the end the risk was just too big and the car had done a few too many miles to justify a £3k bill with a possible gearbox overhaul to boot.

The garage (Mastertechs) in SW london were really good about it and charged me £560 in the end which i thought was more than fair considering they spent quite a bit of time on it. I would quite happily go there for a service.

Glad to still be in the 8 family and looking forward to changing my avatar to my new motor now

-Oli
