Meet Report and Pics from Xmas Meet 2011
Another post from your romping reporter . . . .
Well what a great meet that turned out to be - 15 x 8's and a couple of "guest cars" and good to see many old friends and also great to meet so many new faces! Can I just thank each and every one of you for making the trip however far you came but an extra big thanks to those of you that came from as far as Scotland, Yorkshire and Cornwall! The weather held out even more than I could have hoped for and The Leopard Inn did us proud with the food and also with organising some large bench tables so we were only in 2 groups. Personally I think it would be great to try and do a Xmas meet like this every year as otherwise there is such a huge gap between the last meet of the season and the first meet of the next year. What does everyone think? I will post some pics up shortly for all to see, and for the record here is who finally came to the meet - Architex Ma8tey Briang9 & Connor123 barzyA8 Daviesbike & his missus - thanks so much for producing the great 2012 calenders for us all! ChalkyWhyte DarrenJoe90 & Mandy HPSauce +1 Sarg (Boxster) + 1 Oli18 ConanTheLibrarian (CtL) RanjA8 Ainarssems - thanks for bringing the oil! Reffro Trophy885 Sundayrider Adrian_E Singh - Amar in his RS6+ JustBen - thanks for making it right at the end! Here's to a wonderful 2012 for all of you and of course to a gr8 year ahead!

Thanks from us too Neil for organising, and also thanks to Guy for the Calendars, was great to see old and new members again and we had a great time. Didnt get home till 10.00pm, weather and weekend/new year traffic made the journey a bit longer, however cant think of many places I would rather be for 7 hours than in my 8, never feel tired or stressed at the end of any journey in it. Connor has a few videos of some blue rep mobile charging up and down the road outside the Leopard which may be of interest to some will try and get them posted tomorrow.
cheers all

My wife, who was deeply sceptical beforehand came away awesomely impressed by everyones technical knowledge of the cars. It was really good to meet some fellow '8 owners and especially look at their cars; after driving mine for nearly 10 years I think it must be the first time I've ever knowingly spoken to another owner - apart from the guy I bought it from! Note to self - must tidy up the engine bay...... PS The weather on the drive South down the M40 was atrocious, as I'm sure everyone else experienced, but the new winter tyres (and the S8 of course) behaved impeccably and felt totally "planted". The only vehicle that actually overtook us, in a particularly awful stretch, was a VW Bora! I passed it a bit later so I think it must have been going flat out all the time. It was very good to see the pictures. It's a shame I couldn't make it this time. Happy New Year to everyone.
