Well, got underneath the car today and examined the (10pin rectangular) plug. Clean as a whistle and no corrosion. I had hoped that there might be some obvious cause of poor signal or whatever. Any way, gave it a few squirts of contact cleaner and out it back together and when I backed off the ramps - no PRNDS. Manoeuvered about the driveway and all seems OK so far. Always been the same here. Never any noticeable corrosion, yet after a quick clean, the box behaves for another 12 months or so. I've had that happen at least 3 or 4 times now; too many times to be coincidental, me thinks. Hopefully that's all it is in your case too
