Default TDI exhausts

While me and a friend was replacing the gearbox thermostat we started talking about diesels and exhausts.
He commented about a 530D with an exhaust and how good it sounded.

This moved on to him suggesting making one for mine.
he's a welder by trade and seems keen on the idea.
I said I'm up for it if we don't cut up my original one just in case I hate it.

I'm meeting up with this weekend to talk about it again.
The basic idea was 3" pipe from the centre section back. No boxes. Just pure pipe.
I'm rather intrigued as to how it will sound and before we start building it, I thought I would do some research and see if anyone has had any experience of a Audi TDI, mainly the V6 3.0 TDI with an exhaust fitted with no back boxes.

I'm off to YouTube to take look.

Also, I blame M-A8!!
