I think they're OK, but my other car is a Ford Focus... (nuff said, one single candle down at floor level!)
Plus I always drive in forwards and reverse out with my foot usually on the brake to slow it down - all down to the geometry of access, better and safer that way. Plenty of LED upgrades available, try those.

(internal dimming mirror added later)1998 (very early) Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec; ABS/TCS, Heated screen/mirrors, Aircon. There was another thread on here a few months back discussing LED upgrades for these, and at the time I thought the prices being quoted for two LED bulbs was rather expensive.
I live in the back of beyond, so when it's dark it's dark, so I decided to go onto AliExpress and see what they had on offer. Amongst the hundreds on offer, I ended up getting the following ones for around £10 for two: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/White...402478501.html They make a vast difference now, so can definitely recommend the LED upgrade path.

Quick question - don't I need the CANBUS version for my D2? Will these not show up as faulty?

Mine arrived today, not bad - just over a week from China.
Fitted and tested, suitably white and bright. I'll see how they are in the dark when I go out tonight.
