I did this mod today!

The fans are great, although I can't get one of them to stop pointing at the base of the screen. I think that's mainly because I managed to snap one of the mounting clips off it.

For anyone else looking to make the swap to the Skoda washers, mine (2008 S8) fit without the spacers. In fact, trying to force it in with a spacer fitted is what caused it to break.

I'll pick up another Skoda jet at some point to replace the one I snapped and hopefully it'll line up properly.

Thanks guys for all your help!

Done mine but the part I ordered (5M0955985C) turned up and it doesn't have the plug, just the fluid feed Let me guess, I've bought the wrong part?

It clipped in perfectly, definitely no adapter required (also 2008 S8)

Part removed from car:

New part:

Connector which now has nothing to connect to:

Yep, wrong part.
The plug is for heating the washer jet.
Offhand I don't have the part number.
If your car is a 2008 then you mightl not need the spacers.

Here are the numbers
Adapter part number:
8e0955431

Fan washer part number
5M0955986C

Looks like your parts guy has let you down, suggest you return them.

Yep, my fault and I've reordered the correct part.

I in fact ordered the non-heated version.

5M0955985C is the non-heated version
5M0955986C is the heated version

The part number you have stated is correct according to ETKA, Spray nozzle, heated.

Have to say thanks to Snapdragon for originally starting the thread about our windscreen washer jets and for ScottD3 following it up with the fan spray ones available on Skodas.

I have now done my first upgrade on the S8, and they are so much better than the old style. I was quite surprised just how big they were in comparison to the ones on the D2.

Well done Sean.
Nice reminder about a good mod.

Sean, as you have both a D2 and D3, do you think there's any possibility of a similar upgrade on the D2?

2016 Volvo V40 T5 Cross Country (4WD) with ALL the toys including adaptive cruise etc. etc. Osmium Grey with Blonde/Charcoal leather interior. Polestar performance "optimisation". (Even rarer than a D2 S8!) Oh, and a brand new engine at just under 30,000 miles on the factory one!
Finally: gone, but not forgotten.....
1998 D2 PF S8. Agate Grey/Platinum. Every option (I think) except electric rear seats, Tiptronic steering wheel, ski hatch, towbar & dimming door mirrors.
e.g. Cruise control, NavPlus/TV, Bose, GSM, Xenons, Solar roof, Parking sensors, Alcantara/leather everywhere of course. (internal dimming mirror added later)
1998 (very early) Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec; ABS/TCS, Heated screen/mirrors, Aircon. Added Auto-dim mirror, Leather seats, Trip computer, Cruise control, OEM Ford SatNav with CD changer.
And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850!

My initial response would be afraid not. The problem I found with the D2 heated washer jets is that you can't remove them from the plastic panel they are attached to, and that is because the wiring for the heating elements appears to be hardwired.

If you look at the first photo I posted with them sitting in my hand, to the left of the water pipe attachment there is a connector. That's the electrical connector, and so allows a faulty one to be replaced. Next to it is a 'blue blob'. If you have a look at the washers on the D2, you will see a similar blob (green I think), which has two wires going into it. That's what leads me to think they are hard wired, and can't be changed as such.

I suppose if you really wanted to fit them, you could use the existing wiring from the D2, cutting them off where they enter the green blob. A bit of soldering and the right pins, and you could plug it into the D3 washer. Getting it to sit properly would probably be the hardest part. The D2 ones are attached to a piece of plastic trim at the bottom of the windscreen, the D3 ones are attached to the underside of the bonnet. There is also that significant difference in size, with the D2 being roughly the same size as my thumb.
