Vcds and laptops

Thanks peep! So would any decent tablet with windows work? Something like a Linx tablet?

Thought for a second you meant a 'Linux' tablet until I Googled it. Haven't used one of those but it should work as VCDS isn't very power hungry. I used to have a HP Mini 110 that I had VCDS, Elsa and Etka on, and that only had a 10" screen.

I guess more important question is which VCDS are you getting? If you get wireless HEX-Net it will work on anything with WiFi and internet browser. If you are getting wired version it will work on anything with Windows (not Windows mobile) and USB port ( USB OTG for tablets). If it was me I would probably go for older Hex+CAN that does not have VIN limit but they are getting rare and expensive second hand ones costing more than when they were new.

totalcardiagnistics.com most of the webpages does not work and I do not see VCDS anywhere on the pages.

Official VCDS distributor in UK is https://www.gendan.co.uk/index.php but if you want older version you need to look for one on e-bay but there are a lot of fakes.

Did some checking as well, and it seems they've been selling pirated software for a few years now, including older cloned versions of VCDS. I also came across other software they've pirated, so probably best to avoid.

If you want to risk buying cloned software/cables, you can get them a lot cheaper on eBay.

I have a 10 inch Toshiba Notebook.
I keep it in the left hand boot luggage net and feed it with a 5 volt charger wired via ignition. This means that hopefully it will be fully charged when I need it.
Currently because my laptop was killed by my youngest I am having to use the notebook all the time so I have to remember to put it in the car when doing long journeys.

I am pretty sure I read on their website that they sell the legit Ross tech SW which is licensed but they use a cheaper chip.???
