Looks like you found the issue MJ.
My gasket is a bit smaller on the circular part, and larger in the non-circular part, than it should be. And it's flat on one side (would be on the bottom side on your photo), and rounded on the other surface. Edit: the gasket I have looks exactly like your oe from the kit, in shape and material
