So I'm now the proud owner.
 When I get round to fitting it are there any tricks, special tools, preparation/lubrication/calibration etc. required? At first glance it's wipers off, scuttle cover off (been there, done those before) one electrical connector and just a few bolts..... but appearances can be deceptive.

When I replaced mine some years ago, IIRC, I found it a bit fiddly getting the old unit out and the new one back in, particularly around the bonnet struts. It will go, but cover the o/s wing so you don’t mark that lovely paint!

Take the right bonnet strut off and either prop the bonnet with a broom or have an assistant hold it for a few minutes while you pull the old one and fit the new one. Pull the motor forward, rotating around the centre spindle which is stuck behind the hvac inlet. When you get to about 45 degrees it'll pull out sideways.
Some lithium spray grease around the left linkage and in the rubber boots on the balljoints helps stop moisture getting in. I think when I had your car in I put some additional boots on the top of the spindles to keep moisture out. Swap those over to the new one with some grease under them. I'll buy the old one for parts if you are going to get rid of it.

Thanks Sean, pretty much as expected. The torque settings are useful, though confusing.
(The wiper arm securing nuts are 20Nm or 16Nm depending which page you read!) No comments about lubrication, if indeed any is appropriate?
