Steering motor adjustment problem.
Hi there. New to this group hope all of you are doing good. I'll introduce myself in the right location after this post. I have a problem with the steering wheel motors..they both seem to be stuck. I tried lubricants and help the threaded shaft to rotate but not budging.... I still am working to try the VCDS route to test the system with the Ross tech but wondered if any of this was familiar to anyone? Thank you.

I've never had the problem, but have you tried a bit of gentle persuasion on the steering wheel at the same time you're pushing the button? i.e. Push the button to move the steering wheel out whilst pulling the steering wheel gently.

Hello Steamship.
Thank you for your reply. I have tried wrestling with the wheel up and down quite forcefully for a bit with no luck. I am unsure if it is the threaded rod that is meant to rotate? As for the VAG diagnostic route is a no go. It found no module for it to talk to?

Ok. I have managed to remove the unit from the dash and oh boy were the corkscrew well and truly stuck. After about 3 hours of wd40 other all in one and lithium grease the fro and back is somewhat loose. But I managed to mangle the rear part of the screw (where a washer and clip reside) to allow me to rotate the screw with the gears disengaged from the motor. So it's kind of working. But it seems to seize again after a few back and fro again. Unless the battery is flat. Anyway I have put the batt to charge and will check again tomorrow. I am hesitating to do the same on the up down. As the screw and gearbox.is even more difficult to access.... how hard is it to replace the whole unit?
