Today has mostly been a doing and redoing day. I also have a black little finger tip which has caused me no end of problem. This morning it refused to conduct its routine ear wax clear proses, so the right little finger had to do it and then we have union problems with threats of no pickets and demarcation. You don't know how much you use a digit for till you loose it.
There are no piccys today spent most of it fiddling with the suspension to find the best way of installing the control arms. I will do a full how-to when this is all over. Current state of affairs is that I am waiting for seals and o-rings from Audi and will do a start up when they're fitted to the Power Steering Pump and Air Con compressor. So more tomorrow.

Today the Beast Roared
Yep, today after a half day of fitting O-rings to pipes and filling fluid reservoirs and checking everything twice I hit the go key and after 2 long periods of cranking it fired. I was so happy; for 50 seconds then it coughed and I cut the ignition. Vagcom was showing multiple random misfires. Fired it up again and after a few seconds coughed and died. I'm fairly certain it's fuel related.
Anyway. A full Vagcom scan showed no other faults so I think the install has gone well. Will spend tomorrow investigating the fuse and relay for the fuel pump; although I have it very reliable that my pump sounded weird when last heard running! Great  a new fuel pump.Tonight's photo:

you do realise that if any of us need an engine swap you know who's door we will be knocking on....
 looking good mate! IMHO to have it running in any manner is a superb job. I wouldn't have teh balls to attempt anyting like this so hats off !

It wasn't the pump! :D
Well I went back in this morning and followed the fault finding process on ElsaWin for the fuel pump to find the pump was working. It just needed fuel!
  So a bit of fuel later and..... Some video for you Tomorrow is bolt it all back together again and go for a test rampage!
