Default Battle of Britain Memorial Flight just flew over

Heard a loud, slow aircraft noise and looked outside; they went straight over our house, fairly low at 11:45am, heading East into London.

Anyone know where they are due today?

Edit: No displays but there are shown on their flight plan as going from Coningsby to Northolt, then back again a bit later. So Northolt was where they were heading, just down the road from here.

Finally: gone, but not forgotten.....
1998 D2 PF S8. Agate Grey/Platinum. Every option (I think) except electric rear seats, Tiptronic steering wheel, ski hatch, towbar & dimming door mirrors.
e.g. Cruise control, NavPlus/TV, Bose, GSM, Xenons, Solar roof, Parking sensors, Alcantara/leather everywhere of course. (internal dimming mirror added later)

And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850!

I heard, but didn't see, one (maybe both?) of the fighters going back a few minutes later, so maybe they were just escorting the Lancaster to Northolt?

But why?

Has to be one of the nicest sounds out there, those Rolls-Royce engines... with a V8 next on the list

Never seen all the BoB memorial flight together, but did experience the sound of the Lancaster and Spitfire.

The first Centurion tanks had the Merlin engine. They also had a Morris Minor "donkey" engine that was used to charge the batteries so that they could start the Merlin. There was also a lot of TS kit in them that I'm still not allowed to talk about.

I was lucky enough to be in london when they flew over Buckingham palace with the Typhoon in camo colours - still makes me emotional just thinking about the poignancy of it

Years ago a friend of someone with a Spitfire got them to fly it over our village show.
It came in fast and low, banking hard right over my back garden. And as the pilot opened her up I could hear the pitch of the supercharger climbing to a scream, accompanied by the thundering bass of that engine.
Thinking about it still raises hair on the back of my neck. Magic

This is the one I was lucky enough to see back in 2004 whilst on holiday in the south of England.

It is ML407, the Grace Spitfire, and on that day was being flown by Carolyn Grace.

And yes, it does make the hairs on the back of your neck rise.

We get treated to Spitfires and Dakotas (I believe they're called) almost every year, flying over the house, as part of a local 'War Weekend' celebration. They're pretty impressive, that's for sure
