Try pushing it in until you feel it touch and then back off a bit. Save a bit of trial and error.

All done! So nice to have the abs and traction control back after 6 months...makes you realise how much that stuff works.

In terms of how far it should go in - i'd suggest until the rubber first touches the housing in case it's of use to anyone later on.
