I would consider them 'just right', as I've always found reversing lights on any car I've had to be too dim. I don't think they were ever designed to light up a dark area, but when there is no other light around, these definitely help. As for being over-bright, they're not going to dazzle anyone.

You mention the mark-up potential, and it was a price like that one you linked to that initially put me off, as there's no way I could justify spending £40 on two reversing lights. The one's I linked to earlier are selling for £12.21 a pair. Definitely worth the wait from China.

I have to second this - the reversing lights are perfect for my needs and certainly not too bright. Wait a couple of weeks for the slow boat, all sorted!
